And a Little Child Shall Lead Them

Well, it’s 5th Sunday again, and that means we encouraged our youth and young adults to help lead our Sunday morning worship service.  Please encourage them like Barnabas, overlook their short comings and short height, and praise their willingness to serve.  Several are more willing than adults to step up to the front of the auditorium for Jesus.

5th Sunday also means it’s GO! Sunday, so instead of a regular evening service, we will be having a couple of service projects.  From 4:00pm to 6:00pm, we will be helping with quarters at Crawdad’s laundromat just across the street from the building.  I hope you will choose to get involved in something to help other people and our community.  I know some can’t do it all, but all can do some, and before you know it, everything is done. It’s amazing how God’s love works! I know some can’t love all, but all can love some, and before you know it, everyone is loved!

While Jesus was specifically sent to the lost sheep in the flock of Israel, he still managed to help those Gentiles of strong faith.  He helped the centurion who understood authority. He healed a woman who humbled herself while entreating his favor.  He offered hope to a Samaritan woman with a discussion about living water and the fountain of life.  In fact, Jesus offered his life as an atoning sacrifice not just for the house of Israel, but for the Gentiles, too.  Anyone willing to hear the Good News and proclaim the gospel, whether they were waiting for the consolation of Israel or yearning for justice and peace in a Gentile nation, are considered worthy of Jesus’ ministry and self-sacrifice.  Then there is this challenge, “Come, and follow me,” to the cross, and beyond…

   Grace & Peace, Charles.
