Blessed are the Peacemakers

Politics has no place in the body of Christ, and yet we see Jesus embroiled in
controversy at the highest levels of politics, with kings, governors, judges, and high priests determining his earthly fate. Even after Pilate declares him innocent, Pilate proceeds to have him crucified to prevent a riot, and unknowingly fulfill God’s plan.

A wise elder once told me, “Whenever two or more of us are gathered in His name, there is politics,” and I thought we might just have a riot on our hands last week after I failed to preview another’s lesson topic. Forgive me for my weak faith and negative expectations! As the body of Christ, you were all loving, forgiving, and tolerant of opening a dialogue about Scripture. Jesus encourages us, “My peace I give you,” and “Love covers a multitude of sins.”

Grace and Peace,
Charles.
