The Fragrance of Thankfulness

What do you think of when you try to smell the fragrance of thankfulness?  It is the smell of a garden in full bloom? Or a fresh, home-cooked meal straight from stove top to table? Or perhaps the smell of the salt air on the open sea?  Could it even be the smell of God’s people during the worship service?

The Scriptures tell us both the prayers of the saints and the outcry of the people make it to God’s attention, whether is it the prayers of the saints for an imprisoned Paul, or the cry of the people about the atrocities of Sodom and Gomorrah.  I wonder what those fragrances smell like to God?

May the Lord cover us in the perfume of His loving grace and mercy, and cover a multitude of our confessed sins. We owe Him everything. Have we thanked Him for it lately?

Grace & Peace, Charles
