“Unsung heroes”
I started writing my article as a bit of a rant. I had the article 95% done. Just a little proofing and email it to Roberta. Then it occurred to me that a “Rant” wasn’t what was needed. Not that we don’t have a few things that need our attention, but that there were also some awesome servants here that pretty much carry the rest of us.
When was the last time that you thanked your song leader … not just for leading the singing, but the time needed to put those thousands of slides together? And what about those guy who say the prayers? Chances are, they remembered you or your loved one in their many line items. What about Thanking your Teachers? Our children’s program isn’t a babysitting service. They have prepared to present God’s Word so that our church members can get closer to God. And they do make our job as parents a bit easier. And for our young adults and older teachers, how cool is it that they help us not only hear the word of God, but give some insight to how we can best live it?
We have members that are here every time the doors are open. We even have a few who stop in to see what’s going on when the doors are open during a time not listed on the front door! We have members who tidy up after us (And it’s not like we tried to keep it neat). We have members who fold our bulletin … make announcements … welcome both members and strangers so that they feel blessed! We have fast children who slow down so that they don’t harm the senior Saints. We have members who donate food and treats for our many events! We have members who call other members that they haven’t seen in a while! And I have to believe we have many members who Pray over our church family on a real regular basis!
I could go on and on … but you should get the gist. We have many blessings sitting around us here. Many have never been thanked. So let me just take this space to resolve that …
Thank you!
And to our visitors this morning … Thank you for being here. Please give us the chance to show you that we care!
Your fellow servant … Craig
